Automobile fraud encompasses a wide array of abusive practices: automobile repairs, warranty performance, selling techniques, financing, leasing, insurance, deposits, options, and more. This treatise focuses on the actual sale of the car and on misrepresentations and nondisclosures of something wrong with the car or the car’s history. In addition, Chapter 4, infra, considers yo-yo transactions and sublease scams. Other types of automobile frauds are examined in other NCLC treatises. The list below specifies which NCLC treatises cover the automobile frauds not examined in this treatise.
