1.1.1 All Subscribers Have Access to the Digital Edition
All subscriptions to Repossessions include access to its digital edition, found at www.nclc.org/library. Print editions are available as an add-on. Print revisions are released every few years, and the digital edition is updated more frequently, with all changes integrated into the text. The digital edition also provides access to additional companion materials, as described in § 1.1.5, infra: additional pleadings and discovery, primary source material, the full text of selected federal appellate court decisions, and practice tools.
The digital edition provides extensive search options, including search within all National Consumer Law Center (NCLC) treatises, within just Repossessions, or within categories of companion material. Easy navigation is combined with rapid scrolling between pages. Active links provide immediate access to external websites, other referenced sections of this treatise, and referenced sections of other NCLC treatises. Material in the digital edition can be copied, pasted, downloaded, printed, or emailed.
Clicking on “highlight updates” at the top of the screen in the digital edition highlights those additions made to the digital version since the release of the latest print edition. This option also reveals, in curly brackets at the beginning of each digital footnote, the corresponding footnote number in the print edition (if the footnote appears in the print edition). Important law changes are indicated in the digital edition with red flags, and very recent updates with blue flags.
The digital edition also allows users to annotate, highlight, and bookmark text for their own use. A useful feature allows readers to display footnotes side-by-side with the related text. Another option displays related information to that text page’s content.
Subscriptions are available in either digital-only or print + digital options. Subscribers to the print + digital option receive, as part of their subscription price (at no additional charge), any revised print edition that is released during their subscription period.
Additional usernames can be purchased at minimal cost, allowing those additional users to receive their own emails about important new developments, to create their own annotations and bookmarks, and to personalize their digital experience by allowing a rapid return to recently viewed pages.
